Deir ez-Zor, Syria− At least three pro-regime soldiers were killed and others injured during clashes with fighters of the armed opposition in Deir ez-Zor city on Sunday.
Fayez al-Hussein, a resident of Deir ez-Zor city, told ARA News that fighters of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) from al-Ikhlas Brigade have killed three regime soldiers and injured several others during clashes in al-Sina’a district on Sunday.
“The pro-Assad forces (based in Rassafa area) targeted the district (al-Sina’a in Deir ez-Zor) by artillery shelling, causing large damage in residential buildings,” al-Hussein said. “On the other hand, the FSA fighters fired mortar shells on the regime headquarters in al-Qissor district.”
Meanwhile, a car bomb exploded on Monday in the graveyard of al-Bassiyra city in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor which resulted in the death of five, one of them a civilian and the other four armed militants of Mu’ta al-Islami Army. Several others were injured and were taken to a field hospital in the city. The executors haven’t been identified.
