Aleppo, Syria– On Sunday, 10 civilians were reported dead and around 20 others injured due to explosions in al-Moasslat neighbourhood in the city of Aleppo, north of Syria.
The Syrian air force dropped several explosive barrels on the neighbourhood leaving behind dozens of casualties and large damage in the residential buildings.
Ismail Aziz, a lawyer based in Aleppo city, told ARA News that the regime helicopters dropped explosive barrels on residential buildings in al-Moasslat neighbourhood on Sunday afternoon.
“At least 10 civilians were killed while dozens of others were injured and transferred to a nearby field hospital in the eastern part of Aleppo city,” Aziz reported.
According to local sources, the Industrial City in Sheikh Najar was similarly targeted. No casualties were reported.
Meanwhile, fierce clashes took place between pro-Assad military forces (backed by Shiite militants of Lebanese Hezbollah and Iraqi Abu Fadil al-Abbas militia) and fighters of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) in the vicinity of the Air Force Intelligence Department in the regime-held district of Jamaiyat al-Zahra in the early morning on Sunday.
While the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated that it documented on Saturday the death of about 35 people in Aleppo province, among them 17 FSA fighters and 18 civilians.
