YPG bids farewell to its fighter in Syria’s Efrin

Efrin, Syria– The Kurdish forces of the Popular Protection Units (YPG) –the military wing of the Democratic Union Party (PYD)– bid on Sunday farewell to one of its fighters in a funeral ceremony in the village of Kafir Safra in Jinderis area in Efrin region, northwest of Syria.

The fighter was injured earlier on Saturday during YPG military training in Efrin and died of his wounds.

The YPG Media Center also announced the death of another YPG fighter in northeastern Syria during clashes with the Qaeda splinter group of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

Notably, the YPG got engaged in clashes with the ISIL in the vicinity of Efrin city in October 2013 and has been fighting the ISIL in areas of Kobane and Tel Abyad cities and Hasakah province.
